Danuta Pawlikowska
- Luthier's Workshop -
a little bit of history

I was born in 1971 in Nowy Targ. Already in primary school, I knew what I wanted to do in my adult life, namely building string instruments.
To pursue my dreams, I started studying at the State High School of Fine Arts named after A. Kenar in Zakopane in the violin making class. I graduated from school in 1991.
During my studies, I built a classical guitar, violin, and as my diploma instrument a 3/4 cello for which I received a very good grade with distinction, and obtained a diploma in technical arts, specializing in artistic violin making. After finishing high school, I started an apprenticeship in the workshop of my uncle, the renowned luthier Jan Pawlikowski in Krakow, where I gained thorough professional preparation.
Since 1995, I have been running my own violin workshop, where I create instruments such as violins, violas, and cellos. I make instruments on individual orders. My instruments have reached countries such as Spain, Italy, Taiwan, the USA, France, Costa Rica, and Poland.
Since 2000, I have been a member of the Polish Luthiers’ Association. I participate in luthier seminars, during which we exchange experiences with colleagues from Poland and abroad. I have participated in numerous national and international competitions.
